The Surgery - Name Change If you have contacted the surgery this month, you will probably have noticed that the receptionists have answered the phone with “Quantock Vale Surgery” instead of “The Surgery”.
We have seen some major changes in the past year, with both Dr Harrison and Dr Crabtree retiring from the practice. At the same time, our patient list is growing steadily, largely because residents of Cotford St Luke are joining our practice.
We thought it would be fitting to mark these changes by choosing a new name. We wanted a name that would suggest the inclusion of our whole practice area, (which stretches from Crowcombe to Kingston St Mary to Bishops Hull to Fitzhead, with Bishops Lydeard and Cotford St Luke at the centre) as well as recognising the beautiful countryside in which we are fortunate to live and work.
As we are at the foothills of the Quantocks, we have chosen Quantock Vale Surgery and the new name became official on 1 January 2007.
We hope that you like our new name and will soon get used to hearing and using it!
